Specificity
|
Specific for Mucin 16, also known as Ovarian Cancer Antigen CA-125. Recognizes epitope specificity group B (ISOBM classification) similar to M-11. Mucin 16 is a serum marker, overexpressed in epithelial ovarian cancer cells and is routinely used for patient monitoring. CA-125 was originally identified by Bast et al. using a monoclonal antibody developed against the ovarian cancer cell line OVCA433
