Specificity: Recognizes rat metabotropic glutamate receptor 2 and 3 (mGluR2 and mGluR3). The metabotropic glutamate receptors have been organized into three groups, mGluR2 and mGluR3 make up group II, and are negatively coupled to adenylate cyclase. Group II mGluRs act to inhibit neurotransmitter release as autoreceptors on glutamatergic terminals and as presynaptic heteroreceptors, performing a variety of functions in the central and peripheral nervous system.
