Description The Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) was originally identified as a protein involved in the bioluminescence, which isfrom the jellyfish Aequorea Victoria. It is widely used as a fluorescent indicator for monitoring gene expression in avariety of cellular systems, including living organisms and fixed tissues. Unlike other bioluminescent reporters, GFPfluoresces without the need for exogenous substrates or cofactors, or other intrinsic or extrinsic proteins, making GFPa useful tool for monitoring gene expression and protein localization in vivo. Purified GFP is a 27 kDa monomerconsisting of 238 amino acids and emits green light (emission maximum at 509 nm) when excited with blue or UVlight.

Application Details

Application Notes Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by immunofluorescentstaining with flow cytometric analysis. For immunofluorescent staining, thesuggested use of this reagent is 5 ul per million cells or 5 ul per 100 ul ofwhole blood. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimalperformance for each application.* Alexa Fluor
Purification The antibody was purified by affinity chromatography, and conjugated withAlexa Fluor 647 under optimal conditions. The solution is free of unconjugated Alexa Fluor 647.
Buffer Phosphate-buffered solution, pH 7.2, containing 0.09% sodium azide.
Storage The antibody solution should be stored undiluted at 4 degrees C and protected from prolonged exposure to light. Do not freeze.
Restrictions For Research Use only
