Description
CD42b is a 145 kD glycoprotein known as gpIbalpha. It is composed in a heterodimer with a beta chain (CD42c, gpIbbeta)through a disulfide bond. CD42b is expressed on platelets and megakaryocytes. CD42b/c heterodimer forms acomplex with CD42a and d and acts as the receptor for Von Willibrand factor and thrombin.

Application Notes
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by immunofluorescent staining with flow cytometric analysis. For immunofluorescent staining, the suggested use of this reagent is 20 ul per million cells in 100 ul volume or 20 ul per100 ul of whole blood. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application. Additional reported applications (for the relevant formats) include: immunohistochemical staining of acetone-fixedfrozen tissue sections, Westerm blotting, and inhibition of platelet aggregation2.
