Additional Information

Alternative name CD103
Immunogen Mouse intestinal intraepithelial lymphocytes
Isotype IgG
Clone 2E7
Description CD103 is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein known as alphaE integrin or Integrin alphaIEL chain. It belongs to integrinfamily and is primarily found on intestinal intraepithelial lymphocytes (IEL). CD103 is also expressed on asubpopulation of lamina propria T cells, epithelial dendritic cells, lamina propria-derived dendritic cells, and a smallsubset of peripheral lymphocytes. T regulatory cells express high level of CD103. The CD103 expression onlymphocytes can be induced upon activation and TGF-beta stimulation. In association with integrin beta7, CD103 isexpressed as alphaE/beta7 heterodimer. Mature CD103 protein can be cleaved into 2 chains, 150kD (C-terminal) chain and25kD (N-terminal) chain, which remain linked by disulfide bonds. CD103 binds to E-cadherin and mediates homing oflymphocytes to the intestinal epithelium.

Application Details

Application Notes Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by immunofluorescentstaining with flow cytometric analysis. For immunofluorescent staining, thesuggested use of this reagent is approx. 0.5 ug per 106 cells in 100 ul volume. It isrecommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for eachapplication. Additional reported applications (for the relevant formats) include: immunoprecipitation1, immunohistochemicalstaining1,2 of acetone-fixed frozen sections, and in vitro activation1.
Purification The antibody was purified by affinity chromatography, and conjugatedwith APC under optimal conditions. The solution is free of unconjugated APC.
Buffer Phosphate buffered solution, pH 7.2, containing 0.09% sodium azide.
Storage The antibody solution should be stored undiluted at 4 degrees C and protected from prolonged exposure to light. Do not freeze.
Restrictions For Research Use only
