Additional Information
| Alternative name | IL-18R alpha |
| Immunogen | Human NK cell line NK0 constitutively expressing IL-18 receptors |
| Isotype | IgG1, kappa chain |
| Clone | H44 |
| Description | IL-18 receptor is composed of an alpha and a beta subunit that combine to form a high affinity receptor for IL-18. IL-18receptor alpha chain, also known as CDw218a, is a 75-80 kD type I transmembrane protein. It is expressed on NK cells, neutrophils, endothelial cells, and subsets of T and B cells. The expression of CDw218a on lymphocytes isupregulated after activation. The interaction of IL-18 and IL-18 receptor has been reported to be implicated inpromotion of Th1 cytokine production and atherogenesis. The H44 antibody is specific for IL-18 receptor alpha chain andhas been reported to block IL-18 binding to the receptor and to be useful for the identification of IL-18 receptor by flowcytometry and IHC. |
Application Details
| Application Notes | Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by immunofluorescentstaining with flow cytometric analysis. For immunofluorescent staining, thesuggested use of this reagent is approx. 1.0 ug per 106 cells in 100 ul volume. It isrecommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for eachapplication. Additional reported applications (for the relevant formats) include: Westernblotting, blocking of human IL-18 biological activity2, andimmunohistochemistry1 of acetone-fixed frozen sections.
