Description
CD38 is a 45 kD type II transmembrane glycoprotein, also known as T10. It is an ADP-ribosyl hydrolase, expressed atvariable levels on hematopoietic cells and in some non-hematopoietic tissues (such as brain, muscles, and kidney). Inhumans, it is expressed at high levels on plasma cells and activated T and B cells. By functioning as both a cyclaseand a hydrolase, CD38 mediates lymphocyte activation, as well as adhesion and the metabolism of cADPR andNAADP. CD31 is the ligand of CD38.

Application Notes
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by immunofluorescent staining with flow cytometric analysis. For immunofluorescent staining, the suggested use of this reagent is 20 ul per million cells or 20 ul per 100 ul of wholeblood. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application. Additional reported applications (for the relevant formats) include: immunohistochemical staining of acetone-fixedfrozen tissue sections.
Purification
The antibody was purified by affinity chromatography, and conjugated withPE/Cy7 under optimal conditions. The solution is free of unconjugatedPE/Cy7 and unconjugated antibody.
Buffer
Phosphate-buffered solution, pH 7.2, containing 0.09% sodium azide and0.2% (w/v) BSA (origin USA).
Storage
The antibody solution should be stored undiluted at 4 degrees C and protected from prolonged exposure to light. Do not freeze.
