Immunogen Peptide-KLH
Format Purified
Isotype IgG  (Matching secondary antibodies)
Clone Poly6321
Description The alpha-adducin protein is a ubiquitously expressed cytoskeletal protein thatbinds with high affinity to Ca2+/calmodulin and acts as a substrate for proteinkinases A and C. alpha-addducin is a 80-120 kD member of the aldolase class IIfamily and adducin subfamily. This protein has three isoforms that interact asheterodimers alpha/beta, and alpha/gamma. The molecular weights for the various isoforms arealpha=120 kD, beta=110kD, gamma=80kD. This protein has been reported to promote theassembly of the spectrin-actin network. Polymorphisms in alpha-adducin areassociated with cardiovascular disease and hypertension. alpha-adducin hasbeen reported to interact with calmodulin. When phosphorylated byRho-kinase, alpha-adducin can regulate membrane ruffling and cell motility. ThePoly6321 antibody has been shown to be useful for immunofluorescencemicroscopy of mouse and human alpha-adducin protein.
