Description
Originally identified as an immunoglobulin heavy chain-binding protein in pre-B cells, BiP was found to be involved instress responses and also as a molecular chaperone in intracellular protein transport, prevention of protein toxicityand direction of protein folding and assembly in the endoplasmic reticulum. Because so many ER proteins interacttransiently with BiP, it may play a key role in monitoring protein transport through the cell.

Application Notes
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by immunofluorescent staining with flow cytometric analysis. For immunofluorescent staining, the suggested use of this reagent is approx. 1.0 ug per 106 cells in 100 ul volume. It isrecommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.
