Description: Cdk4 (Cyclin dependent kinase 4) belongs to the Ser/Thr protein kinasesuperfamily, CDC2/CDKX subfamily, and predicted molecular weight 34 kD.The complexes formed by CDK4 and the D-type cyclins are involved in thecontrol of cell proliferation during the G1 phase. D-type cyclins are induced bymitogens and activated Cdk4/cyclin D complexes are thought tophosphorylate the retinoblastoma susceptibility protein (Rb), therebyfacilitating G, progression. The Poly6333 antibody has been shown to beuseful for western blotting, immunoprecipitation, and immunohistochemistryof human, mouse, and rat Cdk4 protein.
