DDX3 is a member of DEAD box family which is RNA helicases characterized by a conserved motif of D-E-A-D(Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp) amino acid sequence. DDX3 is implicated in many cellular processes, such as altering RNAsecondary structure and , export of HIV-1 viral transcripts, HCV viral RNA replication. DDX3 has potentialimportance in both cancer, and viral infection as well as its roles in numerous cellular processes, such asembryogenesis, spermatogenesis and cellular growth and proliferation.
