| Description | The eukaryotic translation initiation factor-3 (eIF3) is a 700 kD complex comprised of at least 13 subunits, includingeIF3J, which is essential for translation. eIF3 directly binds to the 40S ribosomal subunit and promotes the formationof the 40S preinitiation complex by promoting the binding of methionyl-tRNA and mRNA. eIF3J is thought to functionin part by regulating access of the mRNA-binding cleft in response to initiation factor binding. Poly6384 is useful forwestern blot applications. |
