Description Blimp-1 (B lymphocyte maturation protein-1) is a nuclear protein with five zinc fingers inits carboxy terminus. It is a transcriptional repressor that is both required and sufficientto trigger terminal differentiation of B lymphocytes and monocyte/macrophages. Blimp-1is expressed in, and may be required for terminally differentiated epithelial cells, retinalneurons and other lineage cells. It has also been implicated in the repression ofbeta-interferon (IFN-beta) and c-myc gene expression. Alternate Names: anti-BLIMP 1 antibody, anti-B Lymphocyte Induced Maturation Protein 1 antibody,anti-BLIMP1 antibody, anti-Positive Regulatory Domain I Binding Factor 1 antibody,anti-PR Domain Containing 1 antibody, anti-PRDI BF1 antibody, anti-PRDM1 antibody.
Specificity This antibody is specific for the Blimp-1. . Species Reactivity: Mouse and human (see Specific Reference). Other species have not been tested. Localization: Nuclear.
