Background Blimp-1 (B lymphocyte maturation protein-1) is a nuclear protein with five zinc fingers inits carboxy terminus. It is a transcriptional repressor that is both required and sufficientto trigger terminal differentiation of B lymphocytes and monocyte/macrophages. Blimp-1is expressed in, and may be required for terminally differentiated epithelial cells, retinalneurons and other lineage cells. It has also been implicated in the repression ofbeta-interferon (IFN-beta) and c-myc gene expression. Alternate Names: anti-BLIMP 1 antibody, anti-B Lymphocyte Induced Maturation Protein 1 antibody,anti-BLIMP1 antibody, anti-Positive Regulatory Domain I Binding Factor 1 antibody,anti-PR Domain Containing 1 antibody, anti-PRDI BF1 antibody, anti-PRDM1 antibody.

Application Notes This Blimp-1 (3H2-E8) antibody is useful for ELISA, Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry on paraffin-embedded sections and Flow Cytometry. Immunohistochemistry-Frozen was reported in scientific literature. By WB, this antibody recognizes a band at ~98 kDa and may recognize one at ~80 kDa (the beta form). Antigen retrieval is recommended (EDTA buffer, microwave) prior to IHC on paraffin tissues. This antibody demonstrates nuclear staining. This antibody does not immunoprecipitate. For IHC and ICC/IF a dilution of 1:200 is recommended with tyramide amplification.
