Additional Information

Immunogen OVTL16 is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody derived by fusion of SP2/0 mouse myeloma cells with spleen cells from a BALB/c mouse immunized with cyst fluid, obtained from a patient with a poorly differentiated human ovarian carcinoma.
Format Culture supernatant
Isotype IgG1
Clone OVTL16
Description A central concept in tumor immunology is that malignancies bear tumor associated antigens, which are not or to a much lesser degree found in normal tissues. These antigens can be used as distinctive markers in diagnosis and therapy. As a consequence, monoclonal antibodies to such antigens may represent useful tools for histopathology, immunoscintigraphy and for immunotherapy .
Specificity Human.

Application Details

Application Notes OVTL16 recognizes a conformational epitope on ovarian carcinoma membrane antigen OA3 which is present in ovarian carcinomas and in cyst fluids obtained from these carcinomas, as well as in oviductal carcinomas and some endometrial carcinomas. OVTL16 is suitable for immunohistochemistry on frozen tissues and for staining with avidin-biotinylated horseradish peroxidase complex (ABC) as detection reagent. Optimal antibody dilution should be determined by titration.
Storage Store at 4 o C, or in small aliquots at -20 o C.
