Additional Information

Alternative name Neuropeptide Y Receptor Y1, NPY1R
Immunogen A synthetic peptide mapping at the C-terminal of human NPY1R, identical to the related rat and mouse sequence.
Format Affinity-purified
Isotype IgG  (Matching secondary antibodies)
Description Neuropeptide Y Receptor Y1 (NPY1R) is one of the most abundant neuropeptides in the mammalian nervous system and exhibits a diverse range of important physiological activities, including effects on psychomotor activity, food intake, regulation of central endocrine secretion, and potent vasoactive effects on the cardiovascular system.. Two major subtypes of NPY receptor (Y1 and Y2) have been defined by pharmacological criteria. NPY1R and NPY2R encoding mouse type 1 and type 2 neuropeptide Y receptors, have been mapped by interspecific backcross analysis. NPY1R is required for central physiological and pharmacological NPY-induced analgesia and that its activation is both sufficient and required for the release of substance P and initiation of neurogenic inflammation.
Specificity Human, mouse, rat. No cross reactivity with other proteins.

Application Details

Application Notes Western blotting: At 1u/ml with the appropriate system to detect NPY1R in cells and tissues. Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin-embedded Sections): At 1-2u/ml to detect NPY1R in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded tissues. Boiling the sections is required. Other applications have not been tested. Optimal dilutions should be determined by end user.
Purity Immunogen affinity purified.
Buffer Each vial contains 5mg BSA, 0.9mg NaCl, 0.2mg Na 2 HPO 4 , 0.05mg Thimerosal, 0.05mg NaN 3 .
Storage At -20°C for one year. After reconstitution, at 4°C for one month. It can also be aliquotted and stored frozen at -20°C for longer time. Reconstitution: 0.2ml of distilled water will yield a concentration of 500ug/ml.
Restrictions For Research Use only
