Description Adaptins are important components of heterotetrameric adaptor complexes (APs) whose role is to promote the formation of clathrin-coated pits and vesicles. The AP-1 adaptor, localized at the trans-Golgi network, is composed of 2 approximately 100-kD subunits, beta-prime-adaptin and gamma-adaptin. The predicted 825-amino acid protein shares 99% identity with mouse gamma-adaptin. Northern blot analysis revealed that gamma-adaptin was expressed as a 7.5-kb transcript in all human tissues tested. Human gamma-adaptin gene (ADTG) is assigned to 16q23.
Specificity Human, rat. No cross reactivity with other proteins.

Application Details

Application Notes Western blotting: At 2-4µg/ml with the appropriate system to detect ?-Adaptin in cells and tissues. Other applications have not been tested. Optimal dilutions should be determined by end user.
Buffer Lyophilized from 1.2% sodium acetate, with 2mg BSA and 0.2mg NaN3 as preservative.
Storage At -20°C for one year. After reconstitution, at 4°C for one month. It can also be aliquotted and stored frozen at -20°C for longer time. Reconstitution: 1.2% sodium acetate or neutral PBS. If 1ml of PBS is used, the antibody concentration will be 100µg/ml.
