Description: Protein phosphatase 1 alpha(PP1A)is one of four major serine/threonine-specific protein phosphatases which have been identified in eukaryotic cells by enzymatic methods. Phosphorylation of serine and threonine residues in proteins is a crucial step in the regulation of many cellular functions ranging from hormonal regulation to cell division and even short-term memory. Protein phosphatase-1 determined the efficacy of learning and memory by limiting acquisition and favoring memory decline. PPP1A gene is mapped to 11q13. Specificity: Human, mouse, rat, rabbit. No cross reactivity with other proteins.

Application Details

Application Notes: Western blotting: At 2-4µg/ml with the appropriate system to detect PP1a in cells and tissues. Immunocytochemistry Suitable Other applications have not been tested. Optimal dilutions should be determined by end user.

Buffer: Lyophilized from 1.2% sodium acetate, with 2mg BSA and 0.2mg NaN3 as preservative.

Storage: At -20°C for one year. After reconstitution, at 4°C for one month. It can also be aliquotted and stored frozen at -20°C for longer time. Reconstitution: 1.2% sodium acetate or neutral PBS. If 1ml of PBS is used, the antibody concentration will be 100µg/ml.
