Description
Collagen type ?, also knows as COL3A1, is assigned to chromosome 2. Ultrastructural analysis of tissues from mutant mice revealed that type III collagen is essential for normal collagen I fibrillogenesis in the cardiovascular system and other organs. Type III collagen is crucial for collagen I fibrillogenesis and for normal cardiovascular development.
Specificity
Human, mouse, rat. No cross reactivity with other proteins.
Application Notes
Western blotting: At 0.25-0.5 µg/ml with the appropriate system to detect collagen type ?in cells and tissues. Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin-embedded Sections): At 0.5-1 µg/ml to detect collagen type ? in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded tissues. Boiling the sections is required. Immunohistochemistry(F) At 0.5-1 µg/ml to detect collagen type ?in formalin/acetone fixed tissues. Other applications have not been tested. Optimal dilutions should be determined by end user.

Buffer
Lyophilized from 1.2% sodium acetate, with 2mg BSA and 0.2mg NaN3 as preservative.
Storage
At -20°C for one year. After reconstitution, at 4°C for one month. It can also be aliquotted and stored frozen at -20°C for longer time. Reconstitution: 1.2% sodium acetate or neutral PBS. If 1ml of PBS is used, the antibody concentration will be 100µg/ml.
