| Description | Cytokeratins are a subfamily of intermediate filament proteins and are characterized by a remarkable biochemical diversity, represented in human epithelial tissues by at least 20 different polypeptides. They range in molecular weight between 40 kDa and 68 kDa and isoelectric pH between 4.9 – 7.8. The cytokeratin antibodies are not only of assistance in the differential diagnosis of tumors using immunohistochemistry on tissue sections, but are also a useful tool in cytopathology and flow cytometric assays. |
| Specificity | Human. No cross reactivity with other proteins. |
Application Details
| Application Notes | Western blotting: At 1-2 µg/ml with the appropriate system to detect cytokeratin peptide 4 in cells and tissues. Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin-embedded Sections): At 2-4 µg/ml to detect cytokeratin peptide 4 in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded tissues. Immunohistochemistry(F) At 2-4 µg/ml to detect PCNA in formalin/acetone fixed tissues. Immunocytochemistry Suitable Other applications have not been tested. Optimal dilutions should be determined by end user. |
| Buffer | Lyophilized from 1.2% sodium acetate, with 2mg BSA and 0.2mg NaN3 as preservative. |
| Storage | At -20°C for one year. After reconstitution, at 4°C for one month. It can also be aliquotted and stored frozen at -20°C for longer time. Reconstitution: 1.2% sodium acetate or neutral PBS. If 1ml of PBS is used, the antibody concentration will be 100µg/ml. |
