Additional Information
| Alternative name | 14-3-3 |
| Immunogen | A 20 amino acid synthetic peptide derived from the N-terminus of the human 14-3-3 beta/alpha protein. |
| Isotype | IgG (Matching secondary antibodies) |
| Description | 14-3-3 proteins are a family of small, widely expressed, highly conserved cytosolic proteins. 14-3-3 proteins bind to and influence the activities of a diverse group of molecules involved in signal transduction, cell cycle regulation and apoptosis including Raf, PKC, Bad, Cbl, and c-Bcr. Interactions between 14-3-3 and target proteins are strongly influenced by the phosphorylation state of 14-3-3 and the target protein. 14-3-3 expression is particularly high in certain neural tissues and studies in Drosophila have established a role for 14-3-3 proteins in nervous system development and function. Recently, a dimeric 14-3-3 protein was determined to be an essential cofactor for Raf kinase activity. |
| Specificity | This antibody is broadly reactive with members of the 14-3-3 family of proteins (~29-32 kDa). With the exception of a single conserved amino acid change, this sequence is identical in the delta, and zeta isoforms. Three and four conserved amino acid differences are found in the tau and gamma isoforms, respectively. |

Application Details
| Application Notes | Working concentrations for specific applications should be determined by the investigator. Appropriate working concentrations will be affected by several factors, including secondary antibody affinity, antigen concentration, sensitivity of detection method, temperature and length of incubations, etc. We recommend the following ranges as starting points for this product. ELISA: 0.1-1.0 ug/ml Western Blotting: 0.5-1 ug/ml Other applications: not tested |
| Buffer | This polyclonal antibody is supplied as a 800 uL aliquot at 0.25 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (pH 7.4) containing 0.05% sodium azide. The antibody is epitope affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum . |
