Immunogen A synthetic peptide from human autophagy-related protein 3 (ATG3, APG3, APG3L, APG3-like, hApg3, protein PC3-96) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein has been used as the antigen.

Background Autophagy is a process of bulk degradation of cytoplasmic components by the lysosome or vacuole. Human ATG3 displays the same enzymatic characteristics in vitro as yeast Apg3, a protein-conjugating enzyme essential forautophagy.
Function: GABARAPL1 (GABARAPL2 or GABARAP or MAP1LC3)-modifier protein conjugating enzyme involved in its E2-like covalent binding to PE. ATG7 (E1-like enzyme) facilitates this reaction by forming an E1-E2 complex with ATG3 (E2-like enzyme). Preferred substrate is MAP1LC3A. Formation of the GABARAPL1-PE conjugate is essential forautophagy.
Subcellular location: Cytoplasm
Tissue specificity: Widely expressed, with a highest expression in heart, skeletal muscle, kidney, liver and placenta. Also known as: ATG3, APG3, APG3L, APG3-like, hApg3, protein PC3-96, FLJ22125, MGC15201, DKFZp564M1178.
Application Notes Use at a dilution of 1 : 200 to 1 : 2000.
The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user.

Reconstitution Reconstitute in 150 µL of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.
