Immunogen: A synthetic peptide from human coiled-coil myosin-like BCL2-interacting protein (Beclin-1, BECN1, GT197, ATG6, VPS30) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein has been used as the immunogen. The antigen is homologous in rat and mouse.

Description: Autophagy is the process by which endogenous proteins and damaged organelles are destroyed intracellularly.autophagy is postulated to be essential for cell homeostasis and cell remodeling during differentiation, metamorphosis, non-apoptotic cell death, and aging. Reduced levels ofautophagy have been described in some malignant tumors, and a role forautophagy in controlling the unregulated cell growth linked to cancer has been proposed. It may play a role in antiviral host defense. Protects against infection by a neurovirulent strain of Sindbis virus. May play a role inautophagy. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cytoplasm. Golgi apparatus membrane; Peripheral membrane protein. Application Details

Application Notes: IHC, WB. Use at a dilution of 1 : 400 to 1 : 3000. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.

Purity: whole serum

Storage: Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
