Additional Information
| Alternative name | Syntaxin-binding protein 5 (STXB5, Tomosyn-1, Llgl3) |
| Swiss-Prot | Q9WU70 |
| Immunogen | A synthetic peptide as a part of rat, dog Syntaxin-binding protein 5 (STXB5, Tomosyn-1, Llgl3) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen. |
| Format | Lyophilized |
| Description | FUNCTION: Inhibits translocation of GLUT4 from intracellular vesicles to the plasma membrane. Plays a regulatory role in calcium-dependent exocytosis and neurotransmitter release. Inhibits membrane fusion between transport vesicles and the plasma membrane. May modulate the assembly of trans-SNARE complexes between transport vesicles and the plasma membrane. Competes with STXBP1 for STX1 binding. SUBUNIT: Part of a complex that contains STXBP5, STX4A andSNAP23. Interacts with STX1A and STX4A via its v-SNARE homology domain. Part of a complex that contains STX1, STXBP5,SNAP25 and SYT1. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cytoplasm. Cell membrane; Peripheral membrane protein. Cytoplasmic vesicle membrane; Peripheral membrane protein. Cell junction, synapse. Cytoplasmic vesicle, secretory vesicle, synaptic vesicle. Note: Cytoplasmic, and associated with vesicular membranes and the plasma membrane. Detected at synapses and on synaptic vesicles. TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Isoform 1 is detected in heart, brain, lung, liver, skeletal muscle, kidney and testis. Isoform 2 is detected in brain and in testis. Isoform 3 is detected in testis. Also known as: Lethal(2) giant larvae protein homolog 3, STXB5, Tomosyn-1, Llgl3. |
| Specificity | Appears to be specific for Syntaxin-binding protein 5. |
Application Details
| Application Notes | IHC, WB (confirmed by recombinant protein). A dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. |
| Purity | whole serum |
| Storage | Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles. |
