Immunogen
A synthetic peptide from the 3d cytoplasmic domain of 5HT1A receptor (Serotonin receptor 1A, Gpcr18, 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 1A) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen. The antigen shares 96% identity with rat and human sequence.

Description
FUNCTION: This is one of the several different receptors for 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin), a biogenic hormone that functions as a neurotransmitter, a hormone, and a mitogen. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins that inhibit adenylate cyclase activity. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Most abundantly expressed in midbrain and cortex. Also known as: Serotonin receptor 1A, Gpcr18, 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 1A, Htr1a.
Specificity
Appears to be specific for 5HT1A receptor.
Application Notes
IHC, WB. A dilution of 1: 300 to 1: 2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.

Storage
Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
