Immunogen A synthetic peptide from the 3d cytoplasmic domain of 5HT1A receptor (Serotonin receptor 1A, Gpcr18, 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 1A) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen. The antigen shares 96% identity with rat and human sequence.
Specificity Appears to be specific for 5HT1A receptor.

Background Function: This is one of the several different receptors for 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin), a biogenic hormone that functions as a neurotransmitter, a hormone, and a mitogen. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins that inhibit adenylate cyclase activity.
Subcellular location: Membrane, Multi-pass membrane protein.
Tissue specificity: Most abundantly expressed in midbrain and cortex. Also known as: Serotonin receptor 1A, Gpcr18, 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 1A, Htr1a.
