Immunogen A synthetic peptide from the 1t extracellular domain of mouse 5HT3A receptor conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the antigen. The peptide shares 86% identity with rat sequence.
Specificity Specific for 5HT3A receptor.
Purification Whole serum
Background Function: This is one of the several different receptors for 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin), a biogenic hormone that functions as a neurotransmitter, a hormone, and a mitogen. This receptor is a ligand-gated ion channel, which when activated causes fast, depolarizing responses in neurons. It is a cation-specific, but otherwise relatively nonselective, ion channel.

Tissue specificity: Expressed in central and peripheral neurons. Induction: By nerve growth factor in PC12 cells. Also known as: 5-HT3R, 5-HT-3, Serotonin receptor 3A, Htr3a, 5ht3, Htr3, Serotonin gated ion channel receptor.
Application Notes A dilution of 1: 300 to 1: 2000 is recommended.
The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user.
Not yet tested in other applications.

Reconstitution Reconstitute in 100 µL of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.
Handling Advice Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.

Storage Comment Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
