Additional Information

Alternative name Beclin-1-like protein 1 (BECN1L1) (n-terminal region)
Swiss-Prot A8MW95
Immunogen A synthetic peptide from the n-terminal region of human Beclin-1-like protein 1 (BECN1L1) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein has been used as the immunogen.
Format Lyophilized
Description Autophagy is the process by which endogenous proteins and damaged organelles are destroyed intracellularly.autophagy is postulated to be essential for cell homeostasis and cell remodeling during differentiation, metamorphosis, non-apoptotic cell death, and aging. Reduced levels ofautophagy have been described in some malignant tumors, and a role forautophagy in controlling the unregulated cell growth linked to cancer has been proposed. It may play a role in antiviral host defense. Protects against infection by a neurovirulent strain of Sindbis virus. May play a role inautophagy. FUNCTION: May play a role inautophagy and antiviral host defense. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cytoplasm. Golgi apparatus membrane; Peripheral membrane protein. Also known as: BECN1L1.
Specificity Appears to be specific for Beclin-1-like protein 1.

Application Details

Application Notes IHC, WB. Use at a dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 2000. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.
Purity whole serum
Storage Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
