Additional Information

Alternative name Brain-expressed X-linked protein 1 and 2 (BEX1, BEX2) (n-terminal region)
Swiss-Prot Q3MKQ2
Immunogen A synthetic peptide as a part of rat, mouse Brain-expressed X-linked protein 1 and 2 (BEX1, BEX2) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen.
Format Lyophilized
Description BEX1: FUNCTION: Signaling adapter molecule involved in p75NTR/NGFR signaling. Plays a role in cell cycle progression and neuronal differentiation. Inhibits neuronal differentiation in response to nerve growth factor (NGF). May act as a link between the cell cycle and neurotrophic factor signaling, possibly by functioning as an upstream modulator of receptor signaling, coordinating biological responses to external signals with internal cellular states. SUBUNIT: Interacts with OMP. Interacts with neurotrophin receptor p75NTR/NGFR. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Nucleus. Cytoplasm. Note: Shuttles between the cytoplasm and the nucleus. Predominantly nuclear. TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Expressed in the central nervous system. Expressed in Schwann cells from newborn sciatic nerve. DEVELOPMENTAL STAGE: Oscillates during the cell cycle, being lowest at G1 and highest at S phase (at protein level). BEX2: SUBUNIT: Interacts with LMO2, possibly leading to regulate the transcriptional activity of a DNA-binding complex containing LMO2. Interacts with OMP. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Nucleus. Cytoplasm. Also known as: Brain expressed gene 1, BEX1, EG2RVC; BEX2,Brain-expressed X-linked protein 2 homolog.
Specificity Appears to be specific for BEX1 and BEX2.

Application Details

Application Notes IHC, WB. A dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.
Purity whole serum
Storage Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
Restrictions For Research Use only
