|Description||FUNCTION: May be a signaling adapter molecule involved in p75NTR-mediated apoptosis induced by NGF. Plays a role in zinc-triggered neuronal death. Binds transition metals. This protein is probably ubiquitinated and is degraded by the proteasome. SUBUNIT: Self-associates. Binds to the DEATH domain of p75NTR/NGFR. Interacts with 14-3-3 epsilon. Interacts with DIABLO/SMAC. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Nucleus. Cytoplasm. Note: Shuttles between the cytoplasm and the nucleus. Associates with replicating mitochondria. TISSUE SPECIFICITY: widely expressed. In cochlea, it is expressed in pillar cells from postnatal day 2 to adulthood. |Storage||Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.|
