Additional Information

Alternative name cFos (c-fos)
UniProt P01100
Immunogen A synthetic peptide from human cFos protein conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein has been used as the immunogen. The peptide is homologous in many other species including rat, mouse, hamster and cat.
Format Lyophilized
Description FUNCTION: Nuclear phosphoprotein which forms a tight but non-covalently linked complex with the JUN/AP-1 transcription factor. Has a critical function in regulating the development of cells destined to form and maintain the skeleton. It is thought to have an important role in signal transduction, cell proliferation and differentiation. SUBUNIT: Heterodimer. Interacts with DSIPI; this interaction inhibits the binding of active AP1 to its target DNA. Interacts with MAFB SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Nucleus. Also known as: Proto-oncogene protein cFOS, c-Fos.
Specificity Appears to be specific for cFOS.

Application Details

Application Notes IHC, WB. Use at a dilution of 1 : 400 to 1 : 2000. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.
Purity whole serum
Storage Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
