Additional Information
| Alternative name | cFos (c-fos) |
| UniProt | P01100 |
| Immunogen | A synthetic peptidefrom human cFos protein conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein has been used as the immunogen. The antigen is homologous in many other species including rat, mouse, hamster and cat. |
| Format | Lyophilized |
| Description | FUNCTION: Nuclear phosphoprotein which forms a tight but non-covalently linked complex with the JUN/AP-1 transcription factor. Has a critical function in regulating the development of cells destined to form and maintain the skeleton. It is thought to have an important role in signal transduction, cell proliferation and differentiation. SUBUNIT: Heterodimer. Interacts with DSIPI; this interaction inhibits the binding of active AP1 to its target DNA. Interacts with MAFB SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Nucleus. INDUCTION: C-fos expression increases upon a variety of stimuli, including growth factors, cytokines, neurotransmitters, polypeptide hormones, stress and cell injury. Also known as: Proto-oncogene protein cFOS. |
| Specificity | Appears to be specific for cFos. |
Application Details
| Application Notes | IHC, WB. Use at a dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 2000. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications. |
| Purity | whole serum |
| Storage | Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles. |
