Immunogen
A synthetic peptide from the 1t cytoplasmic loop of chicken TRPM8 (Menthol receptor) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen.

Description
FUNCTION: Thought to form a receptor-activated non-selective calcium permeant cation channel. Probably is operated by a phosphatidylinositol second messenger system activated by receptor tyrosine kinases or G-protein coupled receptors. Seems to be also activated by intracellular calcium store depletion. SUBUNIT: Interacts with TRPC3. Interacts with ITPR3. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Seems to be ubiquitous. Also known as: Menthol receptor.
Specificity
Appears to be specific for TRPM8.
Application Notes
IHC, WB. A dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 3000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user.

Storage
Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
