Additional Information
| Alternative name | TRPV4 (VRL-2, VRL2, OTRPC4, Vanilloid receptor-like channel 2) (1t cytoplasmic loopl) |
| Swiss-Prot | Q9DFS3 |
| Immunogen | A synthetic peptide from the 1t cytoplasmic loop of chicken TRPV4 (VRL-2, VRL2, OTRPC4, Vanilloid receptor-like channel 2) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen. |
| Format | Lyophilized |
| Description | FUNCTION: Non-selective calcium permeant cation channel probably involved in osmotic sensitivity and mechanosensitivity. Activation by exposure to hypotonicity within the physiological range exhibits an outward rectification. Also activated by low pH, citrate and phorbol esters. Increase of intracellular Ca(2+) potentiates currents. Channel activity seems to be regulated by a calmodulin-dependent mechanism with a negative feedback mechanism. SUBUNIT: Homotetramer. Self-associates in a isoform-specific manner. Isoforms 1/A and 5/D but not isoform 2/B, 4/C and 6/E can oligomerize. Interacts with calmodulin. Interacts with Map7 and Src family Tyr protein kinases LYN, SRC, FYN, HCK, LCK and YES. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. Note: Assembly of the putative homotetramer occurs primarily in the endoplasmic reticulum. Also known as: Osm-9-like TRP channel 4, OTRPC4, Vanilloid receptor-like channel 2, Vanilloid receptor-like protein 2, VRL-2, Vanilloid receptor-related osmotically-activated channel, VR-OAC, Transient receptor potential protein 12, TRP12, Transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily V member 4, VRL2, VROAC. |
| Specificity | Appears to be specific for TRPV4. |
Application Details
| Application Notes | IHC, WB. A dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications. |
| Purity | whole serum |
| Storage | Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles. |
