Immunogen
A synthetic peptide from the c-terminal region of mouse CHMP6 (Charged multivesicular body protein 6, Chromatin-modifying protein 6) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen. The antigen shares 95% identity with rat's.

Description
FUNCTION: Component of the ESCRT-III complex, which is required for multivesicular bodies (MVBs) formation and sorting of endosomal cargo proteins into MVBs. The MVB pathway mediates delivery oftransmembrane proteins into the lumen of the lysosome for degradation. The ESCRT-III complex is probably involved in the concentration of MVB cargo. In the ESCRT-III complex, it probably serves as an acceptor for ESCRT-II complex on endosomal membranes. SUBUNIT: Component of the endosomal sorting required for transport complex III (ESCRT-III), at least composed of CHMP1A, CHMP1B, CHMP2A, CHMP2B, CHMP3/VPS24, CHMP4A/SHAX2, CHMP4B/SHAX1, CHMP4C/SHAX3, CHMP5/SNF7DC2 and CHMP6/VPS20. In the complex, it interacts directly with CHMP4A, CHMP4B and CHMP4C. Interacts directly with SNF8, VPS25 and VPS36 components of the ESCRT-II complex. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Intracytoplasmic membrane. Endosome membrane; Lipid-anchor . Note: Localizes to endosomal membranes. Also known as: Charged multivesicular body protein 6, Chromatin-modifying protein 6.

Application Notes
IHC, WB. A dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.

Storage
Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
