|Immunogen||A synthetic peptide from the 4th cytoplasmic loop of rat CNGA2 (Cyclic nucleotide gated olfactory channel, CNG channel alpha 2) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen. The antigen is homologous in mouse and shares 85% identity with human sequence.|
|Description||Function: Odorant signal transduction is probably mediated by a G-protein coupled cascade using cAMP as second messenger. Theolfactory channel can be shown to be activated by cyclic nucleotides which leads to a depolarization ofolfactory sensory neurons. Subunit structure: Heterooligomer of OCNC1 and OCNC2 subunits. Subcellular location: Membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. Tissue specificity:olfactory neurons. Also known as: Cyclic nucleotide-gatedolfactory channel, Cyclic nucleotide-gated cation channel 2, CNG channel alpha-2, CNG-2, CNG2, CNCA, CNCA1, CNCG2.|
|Specificity||Appears to be specific for CNGA2.|
|Application Notes||IHC, WB. A dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.|
|Storage||Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.|
