Immunogen A synthetic peptide from aa region 330-380 of mouse Contactin 6 conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the antigen.
Specificity Specific for Contactin-6.
Purification Whole serum
Alternative Name Contactin 6 (CNTN6 Antibody Abstract)
Background The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored neuronal membrane protein that functions as a cell adhesion molecule. It may play a role in the formation of axon connections in the developing nervous system.
Function:Contactins mediate cell surface interactions during nervous system development. Participates in oligodendrocytes generation by acting as a ligand of NOTCH1. Its association with NOTCH1 promotes NOTCH1 activation through the released notch intracellular domain (NICD) and subsequent translocation to the nucleus. Involved in motor coordination.
Subcellular location: Cell membrane, Lipid-anchor, GPI-anchor.
Tissue specificity: Expressed in nervous system. Highly expressed in cerebellum. Expressed at intermediate level in thalamus, subthalamic nucleus. Weakly expressed in corpus callosum, caudate nucleus and spinal cord. Also known as: Neural recognition molecule NB-3, NB3,Contactin 6, CNTN6.
Research Area Neurology
Application Notes A dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 2000 is recommended.
The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user.
Restrictions For Research Use only
Format Lyophilized
Reconstitution Reconstitute in 100 µL of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.
Handling Advice Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
Storage 4 °C/-20 °C
Storage Comment Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
Expiry Date 12 months
