Immunogen A synthetic peptide from the phosphorylated sites of human T514 & S518 of CRMP-2 (DPYSL2, CRMP2, Dihydropyrimidinase-related protein 2) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen. The antigen is homologous in rat, mouse and chicken.
Specificity Appears to be specific for CRMP2.

Background Function: Necessary for signaling by class 3 semaphorins and subsequent remodeling of the cytoskeleton. Plays a role in axon guidance, neuronal growth cone collapse and cell migration.
Subunit: Homotetramer, and heterotetramer with CRMP1, DPYSL3, DPYSL4 or DPYSL5. Interacts through its C-terminus with the C-terminus of CYFIP1/SRA1. Interacts with HTR4.
Subcellular location: Cytoplasm.
Tissue specificity: Ubiquitous. Also known as: Dihydropyrimidinase-related protein 2, DRP-2, Collapsin response mediator protein 2, N2A3, DPYSL2, CRMP2.

Application Notes IHC, WB. A dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 3000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. This antibody recognises mainly phospho T514S518 of CRMP-2 (but also it is quite likely to recognise the unphosphorylated form).
