|Immunogen||A synthetic peptide from the internal region of human CTRP5 (Complement C1q tumor necrosis factor-related protein 5, C1QTNF5) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen. The antigen is homologous in rat and mouse.|
|Description||Defects in C1QTNF5 are a cause of late-onset retinal degeneration (LORD). LORD is an autosomal dominant disorder characterized by onset in the fifth to sixth decade with night blindness and punctate yellow-white deposits in the retinal fundus, progressing to severe central and peripheral degeneration, with choroidal neovascularization and chorioretinal atrophy. |Specificity||Appears to be specific for CTRP5.|
|Application Notes||IHC, WB. A concentration of 10-50 µg/ml is recommended. The optimal concentration should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.|
|Storage||Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.|
