Additional Information

UniProt Q14203
Immunogen A synthetic peptide from the internal region of human DCTN1 (DAP-150, DP-150, p150-glued, p135, Dynactin subunit 1) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen. The antigen is homologous in rat and moue.
Format Lyophilized
Description FUNCTION: Required for the cytoplasmic dynein-driven retrograde movement of vesicles and organelles along microtubules. Dynein-dynactin interaction is a key component of the mechanism of axonal transport of vesicles and organelles. SUBUNIT: Large macromolecular complex of at least 10 components; p150(glued) binds directly to microtubules and to cytoplasmic dynein. Interacts with the C-terminus of MAPRE1, MAPRE2 and MAPRE3. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cytoplasm. Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton. TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Brain. DISEASE: Defects in DCTN1 are the cause of progressive lower motor neuron disease. PLMND is a progressive dominant disease that has no sensory symptoms. Also known as: DAP-150, DP-150, p150-glued,p135, Dynactin subunit 1, 150 kDa dynein-associated polypeptide.
Specificity Appears to be specific for DCTN1.

Application Details

Application Notes IHC, WB. A dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.
Purity whole serum
Storage Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
Restrictions For Research Use only
