Additional Information
| Alternative name | Excitatory amino acid transporter 1 (EAAT1, GLAST, GLAST1) (extracellular domain) |
| Swiss-Prot | P43003 |
| Immunogen | A synthetic peptide from extracellular domain of human Excitatory amino acid transporter 1 (EAAT1, GLAST, GLAST1) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen. The antigen shares 95% identity with rat and mouse sequence. |
| Format | Lyophilized |
| Description | FUNCTION: Transports L-glutamate and also L- and D-aspartate. Essential for terminating the postsynaptic action of glutamate by rapidly removing released glutamate from the synaptic cleft. Acts as a symport by cotransporting sodium. Defects in SLC1A3 are the cause of episodic ataxia type 6 (EA6). EA6 is characterized by episodic ataxia, seizures, migraine and alternating hemiplegia. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Highly expressed in cerebellum, but also found in frontal cortex, hippocampus and basal ganglia. Also known as: Sodium-dependent glutamate/aspartate transporter 1, GLAST-1, Solute carrier family 1 member 3, SLC1A3, EAAT1, GLAST, GLAST1. |
| Specificity | Appears to be specific for EAAT1. |
| Synonyms | EA6, EAAT1, GLAST, GLAST1, FLJ25094, Gmt1, Eaat1, GLU-T, GluT-1, MGluT1, GLAST-1, AI504299, B430115D02Rik, AF001784, CG3747, dEAAT, dEaat1, dEAAT1, Dglt-1, Dglut-1, DmelCG3747, EAAT, MGC140731, zgc:56661, zgc:77768, wu:fb98e05, wu:fd50b05, SLC1A3 |
Application Details
| Application Notes | IHC, WB. A dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications. |
| Purity | whole serum |
| Storage | Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles. |
