Additional Information

Alternative name fibroblast growth factor 2 (FGF2)
UniProt P09038
Immunogen A synthetic peptide as a part of human, mouse, rat, guinea pig and rabbit basic FGF (FGF2) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen.
Format Lyophilized
Description The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. FGF family members bind heparin and possess broad mitogenic and angiogenic activities. This protein has been implicated in diverse biological processes, such as limb and nervous system development, wound healing, and tumor growth. The mRNA for this gene contains multiple polyadenylation sites, and is alternatively translated from non-AUG (CUG) and AUG initiation codons, resulting in five different isoforms with distinct properties. The CUG-initiated isoforms are localized in the nucleus and are responsible for the intracrine effect, whereas, the AUG-initiated form is mostly cytosolic and is responsible for the paracrine and autocrine effects of this FGF. Also known as: BFGF, FGFB, HBGF-2, prostatropin.
Specificity Appears to be specific for FGF2.

Application Details

Application Notes IHC, WB. A dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 4000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user.
Purity whole serum
Storage Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
Restrictions For Research Use only
