Immunogen A synthetic peptide from c-terminal of rat GAPDH conjugated to blue carrier protein was used as the antigen. The antigen is homologous in mouse and shares 90% identity with human sequence.

Background Function: May bind tRNA. Has uracil-DNA-glycosylase activity. May activate transcription in neurons. Functions as a killing protein in apoptosis when over-expressed.
Catalytic activity: D-glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate + phosphate + NAD+ = 3-phospho-D-glyceroyl phosphate + NADH. PATHWAY: Carbohydrate degradation, glycolysis, pyruvate from D-glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate: step 1/5.
Subunit: Homotetramer.
Subcellular location: Cytoplasm.
Tissue specificity: High levels in skeletal muscle and heart, low levels in liver, brain, and kidney. Also known as: 38 kDa BFA dependent ADP ribosylation substrate, BARS-38, Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase.
