| Swiss-Prot | P62879 |
| Immunogen | A synthetic peptide from the n-terminal part of human, rat, mouse, xenopus, zebra fish Transducin beta chain 2 (GBB2, GNB2, G protein subunit beta-2) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen. |
| Format | Lyophilized |
| Description | Heterotrimeric guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G proteins), which integrate signals between receptors and effector proteins, are composed of an alpha, a beta, and a gamma subunit. These subunits are encoded by families of related genes. This gene encodes a beta subunit. Beta subunits are important regulators of alpha subunits, as well as of certain signal transduction receptors and effectors. This gene contains a trinucleotide (CCG) repeat length polymorphism in its 5' UTR. FUNCTION: Guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G proteins) are involved as a modulator or transducer in varioustransmembrane signaling systems. The beta and gamma chains are required for the GTPase activity, for replacement of GDP by GTP, and for G protein-effector interaction. SUBUNIT: G proteins are composed of 3 units, alpha, beta and gamma. Interacts with ARHGEF18. Also known as: Guanine nucleotide-binding protein G(I)/G(S)/G(T) subunit beta-2, G protein subunit beta-2, GNB2. |
| Specificity | Appears to be specific for GBB2. |
Application Details
| Application Notes | IHC, WB. A dilution of 1: 300 to 1: 2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications. |
| Purity | whole serum |
| Storage | Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles. |
