Additional Information

Alternative name HCN4 (c-terminal region)
Swiss-Prot Q9JKA7
Immunogen A synthetic peptide from c-terminal region of rat HCN4 conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen.
Format Lyophilized
Description FUNCTION: Hyperpolarization-activated ion channel with very slow activation and inactivation exhibiting weak selectivity for potassium over sodium ions. May contribute to the native pacemaker currents in heart (If) and in neurons (Ih). Activated by cAMP. May mediate responses to sour stimuli. SUBUNIT: The potassium channel is probably composed of a homo- or heterotetrameric complex of pore-forming subunits. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Highly expressed in pyramidal and granule layer of the hippocampus, in thalamus anterior nucleus, in the supraoptic nucleus in hypothalamus, in cerebellum, and in trapezoid nuclei and superior olivary complex in the auditory system. Detected in a subset of elongated cells in taste buds. Also known as: Potassium/sodium hyperpolarization-activated cyclic nucleotide-gated channel 4.
Specificity Appears to be specific for HCN4.

Application Details

Application Notes IHC, WB. A dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.
Purity whole serum
Storage Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
