Additional Information

Alternative name microtubule-associated protein 1 light chain 3 beta (MAP1A/MAP1B LC3 B, Map1lc3b)
Immunogen A synthetic peptide as a part of human, chicken microtubule-associated proteins 1A/1B light chain 3B (MAP1A/MAP1B LC3 B, Map1lc3b) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein has been used as the immunogen.
Format Lyophilized
Description Autophagy is the process by which endogenous proteins and damaged organelles are destroyed intracellularly.autophagy is postulated to be essential for cell homeostasis and cell remodeling during differentiation, metamorphosis, non-apoptotic cell death, and aging. Reduced levels ofautophagy have been described in some malignant tumors, and a role forautophagy in controlling the unregulated cell growth linked to cancer has been proposed. The product of this gene is a subunit of neuronal microtubule-associated MAP1A and MAP1B proteins, which are involved in microtubule assembly and important for neurogenesis. Studies on the rat homolog implicate a role for this gene inautophagy, a process that involves the bulk degradation of cytoplasmic component. FUNCTION: Probably involved in formation of autophagosomal vacuoles (autophagosomes). May mediate MAPlA and MAPlB microtubule binding activity during development of the nervous system SUBUNIT: 3 different light chains, LC1, LC2 and LC3, can associate with MAP1A and MAP1B proteins. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cytoplasm. Intracytoplasmic membrane; Lipid-anchor. Cytoplasmic vesicle, autophagosome membrane; Lipid-anchor.Note: LC3-II binds to the autophagic membranes. Also known as: MLP3B, Map1alc3, Map1lc3, Microtubule-associated protein 1 light chain 3 beta, MAP1A/MAP1B LC3 B, MAP1A/1B light chain 3 B, MAP1 light chain 3-like protein 2,autophagy-related protein LC3 B,autophagy-related ubiquitin-like modifier LC3 B, Mpl3, MGC93422.
Specificity Appears to be specific for MAP1LC3B.

Application Details

Application Notes IHC, WB. Use at a dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 2000. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user.
Purity whole serum
Purification The antibody is affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen.
Storage Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
Research Area Autophagy
Restrictions For Research Use only
