Immunogen A synthetic peptide from the n-terminal of mouse NEDD8 (Ubiquitin-like protein Nedd8, Neddylin) conjugated to immunogenic carrier protein has been used as the antigen. The peptide is homologous in human, rat, zebrafish, drosophila and xenopus.
Specificity Specific for NEDD8.

Background Function: Ubiquitin-like protein which plays an important role in cell cycle control and embryogenesis. Covalent attachment to its substrates requires prior activation by the E1 complex UBE1C-APPBP1 and linkage to the E2 enzyme UBE2M. Attachment of NEDD8 to cullins activates their associated E3 ubiquitin ligase activity, and thus promotes polyubiquitination and proteasomal degradation of cyclins and other regulatory protein.
Subcellular location: Mainly nuclear
Tissue specificity: Ubiquitously expressed (at protein level). Post-translational modification: Cleavage of precursor form by UCHL3 or SENP8 is necessary for function Also known as: Ubiquitin-like protein Nedd8, Neddylin, Neural precursor cell expressed developmentally down-regulated protein 8, NEDD-8.

Reconstitution Reconstitute in 500 µL of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.
Handling Advice Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.

Storage Comment Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
