Additional Information

Alternative name NPY (Neuropeptide Y, CPON)
UniProt P57774
Immunogen A synthetic peptide from the internal part of mouse NPY (Neuropeptide Y) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen. The antigen is homologous in many other species including human, rat, zebrafish and xenopus.
Format Lyophilized
Description Function: NPY is implicated in the control of feeding and in secretion of gonadotrophin-release hormone. Subcellular location: Secreted Tissue specificity: One of the most abundant peptides in the nervous system. Also found in some chromaffin cells of the adrenal medulla. Also known as: Neuropeptide Y, Neuropeptide tyrosine, C-flanking peptide of NPY, CPON.
Specificity Appears to be specific for NPY.

Application Details

Application Notes IHC (cryo and paraffin sections), WB. A dilution of 1: 300 to 1: 3000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.
Purity whole serum
Purification Protein A affinity column
Storage Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
Restrictions For Research Use only
