Immunogen
A synthetic peptide to c-terminal region of rat Odorant binding protein (OBP) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen.

Description
FUNCTION: Aphrodisin is a glycoprotein originally isolated from vaginal discharge which was demonstrated to be involved in pheromonal effects on male s. It selectively binds odorants and may be involved in carrying odorants within the nasal epithelium to putativeolfactory receptors. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Secreted Also known as: Aphrodisin, Odorant-binding protein, Odorant binding protein, OBP, Obp1f.
Specificity
Appears to be specific for OBP.
Application Notes
IHC, WB. A dilution of 1 : 200 to 1 : 2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.

Storage
Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
