Description
Olfactory receptors interact with odorant molecules in the nose, to initiate a neuronal response that triggers the perception of a smell. Theolfactory receptor proteins are members of a large family of G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCR) arising from single coding-exon genes.olfactory receptors share a 7-transmembrane domain structure with many neurotransmitter and hormone receptors and are responsible for the recognition and G protein-mediated transduction of odorant signals. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein Known ligands LIMONENE<||a href="http://www.enzim.hu/hmmtop1.1/server/submit.html"><||/a> Also known as:olfactory receptor Olfr56, ORL436, G7. GENE NAME: Olfr56.

Specificity
Appears to be specific for MOR276-1.

Application Notes
IHC, WB. A dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.
